Shrinky Dink Pendants

1. The first thing you will want to do is find an oval you can trace. The one I used is about 2.5 inches tall to begin with. Remember they will shrink! I used a pink acrylic marker to trace around the oval on a crystal clear Shrinky Dink sheet or use a No. 6 plastic sheet.

2. Make little white circles using a white acrylic marker all around the border.

3. Next, I added another ring of circles with a pink acrylic marker, and then went around the edges with a red acrylic marker. Do this for all the circles.

4. Next, flip your plastic over and using another contrasting color fill in the border so it won't be see-through. I used purple.

5. Once that dries, turn it over and trace what you want to to have in the middle of your pendant. I traced a little Beis Hamikdash picture from a book and then letters from a siddur for my daughter's name. A useful trick is you can trace on one side and color it in on the back.

6. Once you are done tracing and coloring, flip it over and color in your background.

7. Cut it out and hole punch!

8. Bake on a parchment sheet it until it shrivels, shrinks and flattens out, about a minute or less in a preheated 300 degree oven. You'll know it's done when it flattens out. Ask your LOR before using a regular oven you use for eating. It might be a kashrus issue. We have a toaster oven we use just for crafts. You can ask around in your community if anyone is getting rid of a toaster oven. Or, you can try the blow dry method.

9. Paint around the boarder with clear nail-polish and add a little bit of sparkle.

6. Flip it over, color in the background.
